This borderland has always fascinated me, and i tend to look for it in every city i visit. In London i find the area around Gospel Oak station to possess this atmosphere of unsettling "niceness" - wilderness not being a nescessity for this atmosphere to take place; parks work just as well. wow… i was asthonished to hear another man’s fascination with the border between the rural and the urban (i think it was Will Self).
